When I looked yesterday the Forums were all empty, completely void of any posts. Whoevere is behind the new CD really screwed himself over. Missed a great opportunity and likely spent a lot of $ in the process.
@ronmarie we're on FB and I haven't seen private parties, would like to know what groups you're in for that, we're missing out

I do not use face book, Marie belongs to a few groups they are starting to get waiting list for attendees, To early to predict what is going on with CD many of us do not chat or miss forums yet as we have alternatives. Same game as on here here we paid for gold, once we saw restrictions. Just wait until first trial member pays then the dam breaks. Could be months the ads currently could keep them afloat.
We’ve been away from CD for a while. The ongoing site glitches and crashes were a red flag. Has the site been taken over by a new admin/ owner?
Yes that's the issue new owner with new business model, similar to this site. Got the legacy members pissed
To me competition is good. Keeps all the forums innovating. Tim the original owner had some issue expanding the forum much beyond Ontario, or south of the border. Hopefully this has been resolved with the new owners.
Either way if cost is an issue M4 has a free forum, keep in mind it's purpose is to support the club. Other wise you have to pay to play.

Many of us me included do not use social media sites This and the other forums are our connection to the community. only use these forums on my laptop for privacy reasons.
we are CD refugees as well. met allot of great people on there. looking forward to monster bash so we can hear what everyone else has done. so far SH has been great. hope to reconnect with other CD refugees.
deleted all our photos on CD as well. somewhow they just didnt feel safe anymore.
We are just waiting to see if it gets on it's feet again put some of our pics back on. Going to wait few months did the same with the clubs years ago. One club came out on top M4. Do not like this forum not as private if it too popular privacy lost.
We have started deleting photo’s off of CD. We aren’t getting warm and fuzzy feelings with where the site is going. It’s too bad because we really liked that site for its simplicity and low cost. Between using SH and CD it was kinda the perfect mix for us.
Not sure what is going on with CD found I could comment yesterday still have not given up hope for the site no additional cost so far. See what happens by my birthday Jan, Never seen nothing like this hanging by it's fingernails.
Has anyone else noticed the fake "full members" accounts that are now popping up? They are from the states and it would appear that they "joined" weeks ago but did not appear as members until weeks later. What a joke, who do they think they are fooling lol. How many fake profiles do they think they can create to improve their numbers lol.
I'm not a subscriber to Conspiracy Stuff pretty sure the ultimate objective is to expand south of the border using us legacy members as bait. Just waiting it out. This was something Tim the original owner was unable to do. costs nothing to wait member here and M4 forum.

If you are referring to the "Has become a member" on the home page newsfeed, then just ignore it. Those are not full members. There is yet another glitch as it relates to that where it seems to reload and list new members at random. I have seen our profile listed there a bunch of times. Maybe it's each new time you have to log in. Don't know. You can search for full members. Currently there are 31. Two are American and one of those two is Biloxi from M4.

No, I am referring to the members search where you can ask it to only return "full members" in the search. There are two new members, one from "Beverly Hills" lol whose name is Test 3 and is a 25 year old single male and one from Sandeep, yet another single male, from Tampa Florida. Odd that all of a sudden there are a lot of American members from the deep south wanting to be a member of a dead Canadian site lol.
Your right noticed a few glitches suspect the long term plan is to make a premium site with a yearly subscription to keep the deter frivolous memberships at bay. Using Tim's site as a base to build It got popular for a reason.
I suspect they want to model it on dating sites. Room in the market for a premium lifestyle site get it right you cleanup.

That may be but they made a fatal mistake. They removed what made the site successful.............the members.
The members for the most part have not left , most are like us just waiting to see what happens next have not abandoned CD. already belonged to this site can afford to wait for at least a few months. Like I am doing now we can chat here while we wait it out. Only this forum and M4 available currently. Like my analogy above It's nice to have an alternative highway even if it costs a bit.
I'm getting the impression The new CD is not owned by a single person, but rather a conglomerate. Put together a flag ship site buy some other sites.
Lol CD has gone back to full on censoring of what gets said in the forums there. They have even gone so far as to remove member initiated polls. Do they not understand that the same things are being said in other forums and that it simply makes them look immature and childish by removing and ignoring the members insight. Just imagine how they are going to treat members in the chat room, if it ever gets enough members to warrant a chat room lol.
I came to the Swing Heaven forum hoping there would be a CD chat. Glad I found it.
If I am going to pay for a membership, it will be for Swing Heaven. It's has all the bells and whistles. Like other people have said, the new Cafe Desire is lame and basic. The forum was the best part of CD and the now nobody is chatting.
I feel like the people who took it over new nothing about CD and what made it good. We definitely won't be paying aof ra membership unless there is a miraculour redesgn and people start flooding back to the site. I don't see that happening.
We are the same. CD used to be great. It's how we met allot of great people..but it feels like a highschool website now. As someone else said. And for some reason we just don't feel safe having pics on there anymore and removed them. We need a CD refugee forum. So people can reconnect here. Or maybe Monster Bash will have a Marco polo event where you find lost CD friends

I have searched for it and it is not showing up. Getting a lot of restaurant and "cafe" stuff lol.
