Anybody know when this site will be back up...Admin is not answering emails.

Back up know were just their old members grand fathered in but no access but read only unless you pay for full membership $150/ year subscription, They got us by the short and curlies, you have to pay to play. Cannot even debate on their site unless I pay first. Must admit site looks good.

I just saw that the site is open again too.... With a lame half-ass apology to the existing members.

Shame what they've done. They'll basically kill CD... I can't see how it's a good business idea to so alienate their existing membership.

With SH there's nothing they can offer that unique or worthy hard earned money...

For what it's worth. The site looks like a high school project on a phone... Maybe ok 15 years ago, but by today's standards it just plain sucks.

We have a few months to decide whether to rejoin as it gives idea what is going on at clubs M4 forum is only about their club swing heaven is all of Canada CD is local for us. All these sites have weaknesses. Bit weird debating one forum on another forum, Debates were common on CD what made the site great. Until renewing the membership, sort of stuck.

The site is back up now, but you need to open it again in a new window/tab. Refreshing the maintenance one won't bring it up. I'm quite confused how they intend to build the site if they have nothing happening on it. People will visit, see nothing or very little posted in the forums, and nobody in the chat, and then likely leave. People attract people. Since there will be no apparent people, there will be very little attraction to the site.

I agree, no idea how they plan to make money when they are not the only game in town and they've pissed off the membership they bought. With what they're doing they might as well gave started from scratch.

There's a glitch that allows you to post polls still. We put one up and it was quickly deleted, I saw someone else tried too but it's gone now as well.

I imagine they closed the forum to CD members comments as they were sick of being told how poorly they've handled the transition.

The new CD is terrible & admin runs the site like a tyrant. We took our photos/info off. Hopefully more people flock here or reddit/r/TorontoSwingers/ // reddit/r/OntarioSwingers/

I am curious where the clubs will advertise previously only saw M4 advertise here. CD was go to site for what is going on at clubs unless you went to the clubs web sites. One place was great

M4 was and still is advertising on CD, so not sure what you mean.

M4 and oasis are the only clubs advertising now.

So disappointed with CD, the new design is just garbage, and now they made the Forums 'Read-only' to avoid all the trashing they would get lmao! what a cluster fuck! RIP CD

CD has been a disaster for years.

Forum wars were what pushed us away.

It was a half hazard site with a ton of glitches and admin has been mailing it in for quite some time.

We won’t miss it.

Not a big fan of the new site...all good things come to end.

We found the site to be toxic, rules were not applied fairly, admin was absent. Functionality left a lot to be desired, it was a very outdated platform that seemed to be recycling the same old profiles. SH beats CD hands down! CD was cheap! That's what it had going for if. That is no longer the case.

Thinking of Migrating from CD for all the reasons as you all, was a member for years and met quite a lot of good people. Since we now have to pay to play is this the most likely spot all X CD'rs would migrate to? If I were admin here I'd take advantage of an opportunity to lure in CD members, refer a member.

We have a lifetime membership her have no illusions it will last a lifetime. Either way had to pay to play. Not expecting a mass migration as people weight their options Put more pics on new CD just waiting for verification. I like having three forums to go too suspected months ago something like this would happen. If m4 is your choice, free but no party info or what is going on a rival clubs.

@Westgta... I don't disagree with anything you said, but it was a local site and had all the local clubs etc. We also found it awhile ago - before it became so toxic during covid.

We met a lot of wonderful people there and continue to have long lasting friendships which I can thank CD for.

I get things change, but the way it happened with CD just boggles the mind. CD's value was its members, without members what is it?

As of yesterday they had 13 members willing to pay, can't see them surviving long...

CD admin is flooding it with fake profiles. Before there were like 3 Americans from Buffalo or small towns close to the GTA... Now there are dozens of ppl each day from California, Arazona, New Mexico etc.

I'm happy to see more of you here as it's always been quiet and engaging in any conversations has been pretty much impossible. And if you look around this site has come a long way and offers a lot of the stuff CD was asked to and never did. The days of free lifetime memberships are over I guess ?
CD is almost dead to us, maybe on life support ? I'm no expert but I know what platform is being used (WordPress was never meant to manage a dating site, let alone couples profiles), I have an idea of who's running it (look at the most eager early post) and I agree that it looks like a high school kid from 20yrs ago cludged it together. What a hot mess. Someones retirement plan wasn't well thought out...at all.
We'll be sticking to here, SDC & FetLife, don't think I'll bother posting events on CD ever again.

My latest pics got approved going to put avatar on yellow may miss posting do not chat so No issue with us. So much ado about nothing new trial members will have issues same as here when we originally came here had to upgrade. Just found out no nudity allowed in Yellow, I guess to follow American law. Not an issue on this site.

I've removed all our pics and profile info, it's blank. I'd give it 6-8wks before the majority of profiles have abandoned teh site and it's a quiet as a ghost town. Shame as the new domain owner planned it as his retirement fund, paid real $ for the domain and quickly made some terrible decisions that will be impossible to recover from. Poof ! $$ Gone $$

Either way I upgraded here years ago, plus joined M4 free forum, so pay her or pay there. that's the choice people have to make. Either the guy knows what he is doing or he does not. I watched Ozone make some wrong decisions got a lot of former members pissed off. Is this a repeat. Who knows. I it does go my prediction months ago that M4's new forum would kill them would be correct. I'M no seer.

M4 forums are over policed and if you step out of M4 and dare to discuss anything else you're censored. That's what keeps me away as well as their desire to not include events outside the club (which I understand but doesn't align with our events approach).

Other way you have two choices Here or CD. the CD thread is not being censored as it drove business to their club, Their forum their club to be expected. If CD survives I will follow the discussions I do not chat others have to make the same decision. This is the first time I have seen a substantial discussion on this forum, This is what made CD popular. I actually came here to avoid the rancor on occasion. I played the game here trial finally to get all the features bought a membership. that's the choice buy here or buy there. pay to play

CD isn't a choice any more, it's a hot mess and not worth the time to navigate it

Party tonight, curious how conversation will go on future of CD. will it survive or will it take off past parties crowd divided in how they found parties CD or swing heaven. Either way parties getting waiting lists not advertised unless your on thier face book group, The life style is in real flux.

Cafe Desire is a ghost town!! There are phony members now with administrator accounts - I can only assume they are phony because the photos used in the profiles can be found online as free wallpaper.

Did you know that members on CD can change their own profiles from single male/female to male/female couple or anything they want themselves? My profile was single female & I just switched it to couple last night to see if it would (the options were there, but that doesn't mean it works, right?) - we are officially a couple on CD now!

Makes me wonder now how many single males will change to couple just to get an in... Booty call has become a full-on sausage party too, if that's what you're interested in.

I think this is our new home for meeting new peeps.
