For those who have been around Swinging Heaven for a while or for those new to the site, what would you like to see improved about the site? Is it:

  • less profiles that seem to be abandoned?

  • more controls on who can contact you?

  • better stability for the cameras in the Chat area?

  • more honesty in profiles?

  • Something else?

  • less profiles that seem to be abandoned?

One improvement that I would like to see is better algorithms to identify active matches. I will provide more details in the next day or so.

Good evening and happy Friday everyone,

A little more about the profiles that show up as Matches?!? From the Home screen, I first look at one of the first entries which usually lists the active matches ... here is what it says "We're currently matching your requirements against all our users & promoting your details to 109 active matches!"

So they are promoting my details to other active members who are active ... and match what I'm looking for? Okay, lets take a look at that. Today I checked it out and as above it states there are 109 active matches, but are they really active? Of those 109, there are 39 who have not been active in more that 90 days. Not a good start.

There were 6 where the profile was created within the last few months and they hadn't been active for the past 2 months. I wouldn't really classify that as being active members. But maybe I'm being too critical?

Then I look at the remaining profiles and wonder how they could claim the are matches. There were at least 5 that specifically state "No single men". Since I'm a single male, that is not a match. Fail.

There were 4 others that specifically indicate they are looking for couples. Again, Fail.

There were two profiles that stated they are no longer meeting people in person.

At this point we are at about half of the profiles that are supposed to be matches, which really aren't

Then there are those profiles that show up were they indicate they are a match, which I presume is SW promoting their profiles to me. However, in the first 10 that showed up there was:

  • one single male - but I'm not looking for a single male - so not a match

  • one female looking for a female - so not a match

  • one couple looking for a female - no match

  • one specifically looking for couples - no match again

  • one who lives 550 km from me but their distance match requirement was 250 km - no match there

  • I think you get the idea.

Now I get it, SH is simply trying to make it look like there are ample profiles and many many matchs. But when it comes right down to it there aren't really that many. I would really prefer to have those precious few profiles that are looking for single men to be prominently presented.

By the way, there were only 3 profiles in that initial list of 109 which indicated they were looking for single men. So there is hope. 😉

Well said why I would like to see the competitors site stay active. Keeps every one honest

Well, it certainly looks like there were a number of site updates, specifically focused on the chat sites. But unfortunately not all the comments are positive. I've had mixed reviews myself. Mostly positive, but as with any major update taking some time to get use to the updated interface.

What do you think?
