Looks like Cafe Desire has gone dark.  Anyone know if they are gone for good?

PleasurePear13 posted in another forum thread that the site should be back up in a few days. I am not sure where she got the info from.

Thanks.  Can't find their post but that is good news.

was wondering the same thing. The last time this happened, the site ADMIN admitted that he was hesitant to fix it because it’s a thankless job. I’m glad to hear that he’s going to fix it again, although I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it’s was no for good.

Playing a little catch up here so sorry if this is an strange question; sounds like CD had new members trying to “change” the lifestyle?  what were they trying to change it to?

We’ve been members of other sites before we landed on SH and the thing we noticed was that it was a whole lot of single dudes trying to use as a “find a relationship” site like eharmony or something along those lines. Was this the case in CD? Or are we talking something a little more sinister ?

We’d be interested in checking out CD should it come back online again, just looking for a little background info

We actually enjoyed CD.  There are a lot of features that we liked.  The home page of club events was handy as well as the sign ups.  They make a distinction between full and soft swap couples to help connections.  The forums were quite healthy - comparatively, the SH forums are pretty dead.  There was some drama and road rage that got  some kicked off the site, but for the most part, people were good.

It is now 5(?) days and counting.  We are beginning to wonder if they are going to reopen in spite of the earlier news.

Not to knock SH as we are liking many of this site's features.

PleasurePair made the comment in the thread, 'Does anyone meet on SH?' in the first forum.  They don't indicate their source.

there’s a posting on Ozone’s website saying:

“Cafe Desire is down due to a natural disaster and will return shortly...

In lieu of this, we are offering a Cafe Desire Withdrawl Super Party Weekend”!!!

Annaand Bruno24 -- We have only been on Cafe Desire for a year, but I think some of the complaints are that it is not as supportive and welcoming as it used to be in the forums. Sometimes there was drama and debates in the forum. I remember some people writing that the vibe of the group had changed and was becoming more negative.

There was some drama, but most of the conversation were pleasant and we still enjoyed the website. I think the drama is the drawback of having a very active forum group. There are lots of people with various opinions on topics. It's inevitable that some people's will clash.

Yes, the forums on CD are generally a place we stay away from.

There seem to be a crew of users that DOMINATE the forums, and have to inject themselves into every conversation, and keep turning every conversation into a conversation about themselves.  Not cool.  (It's been getting worse and worse of the years)... Others have tried to call them out on it, but are often belittled and ridiculed.  It's just not worth it.

So those that want to dominate, dominate.

It's unfortunate as there are so many people with unique perspectives, that are lulled into silence due to the bullying.

Cafe Desire started a Facebook Group and has been posting updates there.

I agree 110%! Although people try to post positive items, the forms still get pretty toxic. I guess that's just the nature of people on the internet! You should read some of the comments Youtube! Brutal! CD definitely is not the issue. The people behind the computer screens are.

I do enjoy the tight knit community though. I just stay away from the forums.

Good to know, thanks all. We’ll be cautious of the forum if we join.  There are people like that everywhere, even on here, and the simple solution for us is to not engage with overbearing folks and put on ignore.

It’s a shame really, for those that choose to behave badly. They are missing out

We are having CD withdrawlsicon_eek

OMG there's a go fund me page I think that's ridiculous

Ozone is having another blackout party this weekend if you're a member of CD then admission is free before 10

this is the second time the site has had a go fund me campaign. The first time the site crashed there was a go fund me as well

A lifetime membership at CD is less than two months of premium here. CD isn't a money making venture.
